The 3 Legal Pages Your Blog Needs
If you’re new to blogging, congrats on starting your new blogging journey!
From picking out your blog theme to coming up with your first few post ideas, it can be an exciting experience starting your online business career.
However, one of the most important things you will do as a new blogger is to make sure you have the correct legal pages on your blog. Blog legal pages are so important to your business because it’s protects your content from being stolen, makes clear the policies for how visitors can interact on your site, and also provides you with a level of security and legal protection.
Having the correct legal documents on your blog will not only protect you and your content, but it’s also great way to build trust with your audience, because it shows them what they can expect from you as a content creator.
In this post I’m going to show you the 3 legal pages you need to protect your blog legally, where you can get these legal pages, and also provide you with a few extra blogging resources.
What Legal Pages Does My Blog Need?
The biggest question you may have right now is, “well, what exactly do I need to protect my blog?”
When I first started blogging, I had the same question. I felt overwhelmed reading through endless blog posts and free legal advice sites on how to protect my blog. No one seemed to have a clear answer on what legal documents I was required to have, let alone how to get them.
To get this first piece of confusion out of the way, the three legal pages you must have on your blog are a:
1. Disclaimer – Informs visitors that opinions and views expressed on your site are your own and not intended as professional advice.
2. Privacy Policy – Outlines your use of Cookies and how you collect visitor information, your commenting policy, and email marketing opt out options.
3. Terms & Conditions – Covers important legal issues such as your use of third-party links (i.e. affiliate links) and the use of your content without your permission.
These pages must be easily accessible to your audience, and are usually located at the bottom of every page on your site.
Legal Pages are an absolute necessity. Good legal pages will outline the rules, regulations, and policies for your blog, and also cover important business blogging practices such as commenting, affiliate marketing disclosures, copyright infringement, and more.
How to Legally Protect Your Blog
The Legal Template Bundle is one of the best ways to legally protect your blog.
The Legal Bundle includes all three legal pages you need – A Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Terms & Conditions Page. These templates are also customizable, so you can edit them to perfectly fit your blog, your brand, and your message.
Once you receive your templates, all you have to do is download, edit, and add them to your site.
The other concern you may have is, “well how do I know these templates are legit?” This is a perfectly normal question, and the same one I had before getting my legal templates. The Legal Template Bundle was written by business lawyer and blogger Amira, founder of the six-figure blog AselfGuru.com, where she provides legal advice for bloggers, how to build your blog business resources, and additional legal templates to fit your specific blog niche.
